Registered Nurse for BHU at Mission Community Hospital 

Mission Community Hospital is currently hiring for a Registered Nurse!  The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in the behavioral/mental healthcare setting. Exhibits
the ability to perform clinical/nursing functions within the scope of nursing practice. Provides leadership and direction to other licensed and non-licensed staff. This position will be primarily working with behaviorally/mentally ill adult through geriatric patient population, including gestational females less than 20 weeks in term. Care is provided in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served. Must be able to communicate with Administrative Director,
Manager, Charge RN and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including vital signs, behavioral and physical symptomatology. Respond quickly to changes in patient’s status.

Qualifications
Required
Current license with the California State Board of Nursing.
Ability to read and communicate (in-person and/or via telephone/intercom) effectively in English.
Basic computer knowledge
Current BLS/CPR.
FIRE Card – obtain within 60 days of employment
AVIP –(certification required within 60 days of hire)

Preferred
BSN degree
Ability to speak additional language(s)
Minimum of one year (full time status) adult Behavioral Health, Acute Care, Long Term or Sub-acute
direct patient care experience within the last two years preferred; or a minimum of one year (full time
status) experience providing direct care, assessment, monitoring, and/or evaluation of individuals
diagnosed with mental illness/disability or a medical condition.
