Dive into the World of Soft Interior Trim

As a Product Development Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of automotive interior trim. You’ll be responsible for the entire product development cycle, from conception to launch, working closely with customers to ensure we deliver exceptional solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Whiz: Review customer requirements, assess feasibility, and determine alignment with OEM specifications.
  • Customer Collaborator: Engage with customers to define optimal inspection, packaging, and testing requirements for new products.
  • Material Maverick: Develop specifications for material properties based on statistical analysis and manage negotiations with customers.
  • Product Validation Guru: Attend product validation trials at customers’ facilities to understand the product’s interaction with their molding applications. Drive subsequent trials and improvement activities.
  • Presentation Pro: Professionally present information and solutions to customers and stakeholders.
  • PPAP Proponent: Drive PPAP testing requirements based on assessment of Tier and OEM’s requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum 4-year degree in Textiles, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Automotive Expertise: 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Statistical Savvy: Experience using statistical software such as JMP/Minitab & Access. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Material Expertise: Experience with soft materials (textile fabrics, polyurethane foams, nonwovens, plastic films, plastics, or related) and dynamic material testing is required.
  • Automotive Knowledge: Knowledge of automotive OEM specifications and test methods is a plus.
  • Process Engineering Prowess: Process engineering background desired. Molding or forming experience is a plus.
  • Travel Enthusiast: Ability to travel 30% to customers in the US and Mexico.
