POSITION SUMMARY 

As a member of the Business Strategy & Analytics team, the Marketing Manager, Fan Retention is a key role, responsible for executing targeted and engaging marketing campaigns across various stages of the fan lifecycle to drive retention growth of our Season Ticket Member base. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Lifecycle Marketing, this role will have ownership over all campaigns and communications to our members. This role is focused on implementing strategies and campaigns that drive member satisfaction, member show rate, upgrades, and generate fan loyalty through personalized and data-driven initiatives. Cross-departmental collaboration, understanding of club initiatives and priorities and the ability to create fan-forward campaigns and moments are key components of this role.

This role will be integral in achieving Club fan growth goals, driving revenue and supporting key areas of the business including Season Member Renewals, member communications strategy, and satisfaction of our members.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Campaign Execution: Develop and execute lifecycle marketing campaigns aligned to club objectives and audience growth strategies. Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Lifecycle Marketing to translate strategies into actionable campaigns that resonate with different fan segments. Support the end-to-end process of lifecycle marketing campaigns. Leverage insights and data to drive retention efforts via fan journeys and targeted fan journey creation. Touchpoints include email marketing, SMS, paid advertising, in-stadium activations and more.
  • Strategy: Develops and orchestrates multi-channel campaigns (email, SMS, paid advertising, in stadium, member events) and strategy with overarching communication plan to members throughout an entire season. Focused on creating meaningful communications that drive member retention, renewal, utilization and show rate.
  • Loyalty Programs: Support the development and execution of fan loyalty programs retention initiatives. Assist in creating exclusive experiences, benefits, and more to enhance fan loyalty and encourage season ticket renewals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Intelligence, Ticket Sales & Service, Corporate Partnerships, and Brand Marketing, to align marketing efforts and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to execute campaigns effectively.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular reports on campaign performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement. Utilize tools and technology to draw conclusions and provide success metrics. Report out findings and work alongside analysts to provide visualization support as needed. Providing recommendations and analysis on learnings and adjustments in strategies based on leading indicators.
  • Tools & Technology: Utilize the latest tools and technology, including AI, to improve efficiency and productivity. Curious about learning new methods to achieve results. Adept at setting goals and priorities while utilizing tools and technology to accomplish results. Quick to learn new tools and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in sports and digital brand marketing or customer marketing
  • Passion for sports & events and eagerness to learn MLS and Club culture
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with ticketing platforms and Ticket Master a plus
  • Experience with marketing automation tools, email marketing platforms a plus
  • Experience with project management leadership & project management software
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and timelines
  • An innovative thinker who isn’t afraid of new ideas or approaches
  • Experience utilizing analytical thinking to make decisions and ability to draw insights from data
  • A collaborative team player that makes those around them better

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • This is a hybrid position working from home and from Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton WA and attending meetings and matches as needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 – $90,000 and eligible for bonus opportunity. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
