Hospice Nurse After Hours -Part time nights

Part time 24 hours per week
Saturday & Sunday 8pm -8:30am
Provides skilled professional nursing care to the patient as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations as established by the State Board of Nursing and department policies. This RN is responsible for triaging after-hours calls and responding with a skilled nurse visit as appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrates clinical competency in area of practice. Understands Hospice philosophy, principles of death and dying. Knowledgeable about Hospice eligibility requirements.
•  Has excellent observation, assessment, organizational and communication skills, and good nursing judgment.  Ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner.
• Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families.  Interacts in a calm, courteous and professional manner.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:

• Current RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing; experience with hospice patients preferred.
• Current BLS CPR certification required.
• Current driver’s license.  Relialbe trasportation required with auto insuance coverage
• Associate Degree considered/ BSN agreement required
  Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proficient computer and time management skills required.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education.   If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours.  The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.

Pay range: $35.00 -52.00
