The digital marketing and communications producer for UNH Cooperative Extension provides editorial leadership and content creation for the marketing and communication team, Extension leadership, and Extension educators in concert with College of Life Sciences and Agriculture and UNH marketing personnel. The producer develops and creates flagship publications and implements online marketing strategies in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. The producer is also responsible for training and supporting staff on writing, website best practices and principles of marketing. This position is fully remote, with travel to locations across the state as needed, and has occasional night and weekend responsibilities.

Working in collaboration with county, state and federal governments, UNH Extension is at work in every N.H. county, making the state’s key industries stronger, developing vibrant communities and municipal leaders, fostering healthy families and an informed and engaged citizenry, and keeping the state’s natural resources healthy and productive. UNH Extension works in five broad topic areas: community and economic development, 4-H youth development and education, food and agriculture, health and well-being, and natural resources. Â
Duties/responsibilities
Writing and Editorial Guidance

Lead editorial and content creation efforts required to produce Extension flagship publications, including Extension Magazine, annual county highlights, Welcome to New Hampshire newspaper and Extension Update email newsletter

Provide writing and editorial support to Extension staff as needed
Digital Production and Administration

Create web content
-
Implement SEO strategies
-
Create and disseminate marketing emails using Salesforce
-
Train and support staff on best website and email marketing practices
Supervision
-
Supervise student interns and consultants as needed
Administrative
-
Participate in Extension meetings and professional development
-
Perform administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Strong, efficient writing and editing skills, with the ability to conduct staff training in these areas
-
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, media, or marketing
-
Proficiency in digital marketing tactics for websites and mass email campaigns
-
Knowledge of photography, design, and social media communications
-
Understanding of project management platforms
-
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for work. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate.

Availability to work some nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in relevant discipline
-
Experience with some or all of the following: Drupal, Salesforce, Wrike project management
-
Related work experience in higher education.
