Job Description
JOB DETAILS:
Exempt: No
FTE: 0.4 (16 hours/week)
Schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 pm (Flexible hours)
On Call: No
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform Nerve Conduction Studies and EEGs. Prepare patients for EMG procedures. Set up and assist with Lumbar Punctures and Botox injections.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
Assist and welcome questions from clinical and front desk staff to ensure accurate and productive scheduling. 10 %
Follow OSHA policies and code of Ethics guidelines in accordance with the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists. 10 %
Keep all modalities of nerve conduction studies and EEGs updated through continuing education and affiliated organizations. 10 %
Keep and maintain all equipment calibrated and in working order. Order and stock all neurodiagnostic supplies. 10 %
Perform all modalities of Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). 10 %
Perform outpatient EEGs adhering to national standards. 10 %
Provide education and instructions to patients regarding NCS, Electromyography (EMG) and EEGs. 10 %
Sanitize rooms and stock exam rooms with clean linens. 10 %
Set up and assist with Lumbar Punctures and Botox injections. Work with patients, insurance companies and pharmacies for ordering, approval, shipping and scheduling of Botox/Myobloc. 10 %
Support and educate new employees as needed. 10 %
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Additional Information:
Required – Graduate from an accredited 2 year program or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Experienced in performing Nerve Conduction Studies and EEGs.
Capable of IOM monitoring. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a health care setting preferred.
EPIC experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING-REQUIRED:
At least two Neurodiagnostic technologist certifications required, preferably R.NCST and R. EEG.
